Sneak Peak at “Wipeout” Season Three

We're just weeks away from the return of Wipeout, arguably one of the most entertaining and funny game shows to come out in a while. John Anderson, John Henson, and Jill Wagner return for a brand new season of huge spills, hard falls, and $50,000 to be given away. This season brings on some drastic changes to the game.

News Flashes: “Instant Recall” Debuts, “Minute to Win It” Videos, and More

Slow news day, so here's a few news flashes for you today. *GSN's newest hidden camera show, since the last one did so well, Instant Recall finally debuts tonight at 8:30PM ET.  It's hosted by Wink Martindale and they've definitely been promoting him in this thing far more than the actual show which is probably for the best.  No idea what anything in this show will involve since apparently screener copies of shows are things of the past, but it looks to be decent and Wink is always a delight.  Then again Hidden Agenda looked decent also, and it tanked hard.  Our schedule (and everyone else's schedule) says that Hidden Agenda moves to Fridays at 8:30PM ET, but the GSN online schedule says it doesn't.  Next week Family Feud airs at 8:30PM

TBI Lists Most Popular Game Shows in 2009

Don't we all love lists? Well, not really, but this one's pretty interesting. Television Business International recently compiled a list of the ten most popular game show formats of 2009. This wasn't based on their personal favorites or what the few random readers chose in a poll. This is all based off of which shows got the most eyeballs around the globe last year. A lot of the choices aren't surprises at all, but a few are really shocking.

BuzzerVision: Wipeout Australia

Wipeout Australia is basically exactly like US Wipeout and Total Wipeout, just with Australians.  And if you don't know what Wipeout is, clearly, you've been living under a rock or something. Anyhow, I present to you two clips from what could be considered the best episode in Wipeout history (yes, for all three versions).  In the first clip, a double Sweeper arm can do some interesting things; in the second, an extraordinary finish to the Dizzy Dummy round. EDIT: Hey, these actually work now. Season Two of ABC’s “Wipeout” Begins Now!

My favorite show of last summer, and probably my favorite show of the year, has finally come back for its second season.  ABC's comedy and obstacle course show Wipeout is starting now, at 8:00PM ET, on ABC.  If you're a fan and want to comment about the show, throw them in here.  Can't wait to see what they have in store for us this summer.

ABC and FOX Plan for Summer Thumbnail

ABC and FOX Plan for Summer

ABC and FOX have released information about what you'll be able to see in the game show genre during the summer.  ABC looks to be fun.  FOX, with a new potential reality show, looks to do a typical FOX move.  First, let's start with the positives on ABC.  My absolute favorite show of the new year, Wipeout, is set to return for its official second season on Wednesday, May 27th.  Just over a month to wait for the new challenges and new obstacles getting in the way.  If you watched the Super Bowl halftime on ABC, you saw what you can expect.  and it looks to be extremely fun and entertaining as always.  Don't miss it.  Also on ABC is the return of I Survived a Japanese Game Show on Wednesday, July 8th, following Wipeout.  I wasn't as big of

ABC Airs “Wipeout” Against Super Bowl Half time Show

Interesting news for February. ABC's hit stunt game show Wipeout is having a special preview edition of season two during the half time show of the Super Bowl on February 1st. In addition to regular hosts John Anderson, John Henson, and Jill Wagner, special guest sideline reporter Michael Irvin will take part. Contestants will be cheerleaders and couch potatoes, so this may be entertaining. Wipeout's full new season won't start until this summer so this is a perfect time to see how the new season goes. So far it looks like basically the entire obstacle course will be redone except what became the break out star of the season, the Big Balls. I don't think anyone expects the show to beat the half time show or post show of the Super

News Flashes for October 8th Thumbnail

News Flashes for October 8th

Hey everyone.  No real news today.  It's sort of depressing since yesterday was rather exciting with the whole Millionaire going to GSN and Family Feud DVD game.  So on these days, instead of having a lot of MiniBuzz posts about smaller items, we'll just post these all here so you can see.  And so we can fill content more.  I hate not having a major article of some kind every day. *I think many people saw this coming, but Japanese broadcaster TBS (not the comedy network) has filed a lawsuit against ABC, where they call the new summer hit Wipeout "a blatant copycat."  It's true at least, but it's just a stunt show.  There have been lots of stunt shows over the years.  Can't wait to see how this one turns out, especially since I'm a really

BBC One Picks Up “Wipeout” Thumbnail

BBC One Picks Up “Wipeout”

Good news for all our friends from England.  BBC One has picked up the rights to producer an original version of my favorite show of the year, Wipeout.  It's said to debut sometime in 2009 from Endemol.  Unlike in America, though, this version will be taping in Argentina where many international versions seem to be taping.  We've been seeing a lot of game shows in general taping episodes or pilots in Argentina recently.  Probably because of the reduced cost there. Wipeout is part of BBC One controller Jay Hunt's plan to revamp the network by taking more risks and get new ideas.  I don't think it's that big of a risk, though.  Wipeout is good and entertaining enough to work anywhere.  Enjoy a best of video of episode one.
