Pub Quiz Team Wins $600,000 on “Million Dollar Mind Game” Thumbnail

Pub Quiz Team Wins $600,000 on “Million Dollar Mind Game”

It's not certain if ABC's great game show Million Dollar Mind Game has a shot of showing up anywhere else, but if not they've given us more memorable moments in six weeks than many shows give us in years.  This weekend brought another moment.  Team Pub Quiz, all pub quiz players from around the country, came together and won $600,000 to split.  Among the team members was Brad Rutter, the biggest winner in Jeopardy! history.  The final vote to play for $1,000,000 or keep $600,000 was somewhat terrifying given what happened a few weeks ago, but it was a great way to end this cycle.  We'll probably be talking about the show more in the future and can summarize our thoughts more later.  But in the meantime, if you missed the episode, check it out.  Click here to watch.  What did you think?  Could you have done as well?

Why It’s Not a Bad Idea to Walk Away With Four Lives on “Million Dollar Mind Game” Thumbnail

Why It’s Not a Bad Idea to Walk Away With Four Lives on “Million Dollar Mind Game”

I hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving.  I'm still away so we're on auto-post more the next few days.  I figured while we're on auto pilot mode that we should show you some of our favorite shows.  The one we're most thankful for this year is without a shadow of a doubt the best game show to come from anywhere this year (or the past few, frankly), Million Dollar Mind Game.  It airs 4:00PM ET/2:00PM PT Sundays on ABC.  This past weekend saw a group of University of Texas alums sitting at the table playing.  They went very, very far without missing a question or using a help.  With four lives and three helps left, playing the perfect game, they play for $210,000.  You have to see what happens to believe it. Click here to watch it.

An Interview With “Million Dollar Mind Game” Producers Alex Reznik and Jonathan Barry

ABC's fantastic game show Million Dollar Mind Game, airing Sundays at 4:00PM ET/2:00PM PT, has two weeks weeks left before the season finale on November 27th.  It's had an uphill battle from the start.  The show has its fans, though, and it's gaining a following.  We're big fans and want to see it continue any way we can.  It's why you see us talking about it so much and why we're posting logic puzzles resembling the show on our Facebook page.  Someone may as well promote it.  We don't see shows like this often.  I recently got the chance to talk to producers Alex Reznik and Jonathan Barry.  We talked about the process of getting the show to work in America, the infamous $600,000 loss from the video gamers, and the reaction to the scheduling.  It's a very interesting read.  Click here to check it out and let us know what you think.  It's a long one, but it's good.

Video Gamers Lose Record $600,000 on ABC’s “Million Dollar Mind Game”

You can watch the full third episode of ABC's incredible Million Dollar Mind Game in this post, but first, something very exciting happened yesterday.  ABC may have made it hard to find the criminally underrated and attention-deserving Million Dollar Mind Game (Sundays at 4:00PM ET/2:00PM PT), but even if they have a short life they've made American game show history.  On yesterday, the third episode, a team of video gamers lost the most money ever lost by a group in American game show history.  Click here to watch the full episode and the record breaking moment you won't be forgetting for a long, long time.

More Ratings for “Million Dollar Mind Game”; Watch the Latest Episode

More ratings for ABC's Million Dollar Mind Game are coming in.  The first batch, frankly and sadly, did just about what we expected though there were a few decent surprises in the mix.  The figures for the October 30th episode are in and it stayed just about level compared to the previous week.  The nice thing with all of this is that you're probably going to find that the people watching are probably actual fans since you won't be finding many passers-by at this hour.  If they like it, they'll be looking for it.  I'd be looking for it on Sunday at 4:00PM ET on ABC for sure.  The team is going for $600,000 and could win the million.  You won't want to miss it.  Click here to read the ratings and see the latest episode of the show.

Ratings for ABC’s “Million Dollar Mind Game”

We've extensively gone over the massive, almost unheard of, uphill battle ABC's Million Dollar Mind Game has.  It's airing Sundays at 4:00PM ET, opposite NFL games, and it's gotten practically no promotion or attention except online so it's just not looking good.  However, that's not stopping us from enjoying the show.  We've got a lot of features on it the next few weeks so stay tuned.  We've been provided the ratings for the series debut, and to be honest it's just what we expected.  Click here to see a list of ratings for October 23rd and what it means for the show.

“Million Dollar Mind Game” Episode Two Today on ABC Thumbnail

“Million Dollar Mind Game” Episode Two Today on ABC

ABC is debuting the second episode of their special series Million Dollar Mind Game today at 4:00PM ET.  The show has gotten good reviews for its uniqueness and difficulty, but the realistic odds of it getting any more episodes given its opposite-NFL weekend afternoon slot are slim to none.  So, if you are a fan, I'd encourage you to watch it this afternoon and enjoy it.  Who knows, maybe enough viewers can convince another network to give it a shot.  We've seen stranger shows come back from the dead.  Today, a team of video game geeks take to the circle and to see if they can answer ten brainteasers for a shot at $1,000,000.  Check it out and, as always, let us know what you think.  Click here to give us your feedback on the show.

Photo Gallery and Sample Questions for ABC’s “Million Dollar Mind Game”

ABC is debuting its long delayed quiz show Million Dollar Mind Game this weekend, Sunday, October 23, at 4:00PM ET.  The Vernon Kay-hosted Russian import quizzes a team of six in various brainteasers for up to $1,000,000.  It's sadly being regulated to Sunday afternoons, opposite football, so I wouldn't be expecting a long, healthy life.  However, for those of you that don't like football this is a nice alternative.  For others like me, it'll make great DVR-playback material later that night.  ABC provided a few pictures of the set and host Vernon Kay.  Not only that but ABC gave us five sample questions.  Can you answer these and beat the game?  Click here to see the questions and the pictures.  How well do you do?

ABC Schedules “Million Dollar Mind Game” For Sunday Afternoons Starting October 23rd

This is incredibly bizarre, but enjoy it while you can.  ABC is effectively burning off the long-delayed Million Dollar Mind Game on Sunday afternoons starting October 23rd.  Yes, you read that correctly: Sunday afternoons.  According to Sitcoms Online it airs at 4:00PM ET/2:00PM PT.  Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed that a commenter connected to the show leaked this to us yesterday.  I pulled the comment until I could get verification.  It's apparently true.  No idea what they are expecting to do at 4:00PM ET, but it's a treat for us game show fans.  Click here to learn more about the show and what to expect.
