“Catch 21″ and “Baggage” return Monday, August 16
On August 16, “Catch 21″ will usher in its fourth season. The blackjack-themed game show has been doing very well for GSN, and quite frankly, it’s a fun game to play along with. A new batch of contestants will play the game for a chance to win up to $26,000, in a test of trivia, skill and luck of the cards. We’ve seen the show throw in higher prizes from time to time, as well as celebrity episodes, to make each season fresh and exciting. Taping just started today for the new season, so the new shows will roll out within several weeks, airing at 5:30pm EST.
Just as a reminder, also returning on the same day is “Baggage.” The dating game where you learn about the extra baggage your potential date is carrying, will open up more small, medium and large suitcases for the contestants. It’s a fun show to watch. I always get a kick from learning about some of the weird, disturbing facts people bring to the table. “Baggage” had a successful first season, and will keep its original time slot of 6:30pm EST.

Maybe Catch 21 will get contestants with some sort of intelligence this season.
…
Who am I kidding?
I wish the one rule change Catch 21 would allow is to “un-hit” an A-10 21 and let them play it as an 11. Especially if another 10 pops up so they don’t have to power chip it.
Very, very interesting comment. Still, I don’t see the point of “unhitting” a 21, especially if it is for $5,000, let alone netting your first $1,000 in the bonus game. With the odds of getting a card valued at 10 being high, simply turning a 21 into an 11 proves there is no strategy in that move. Keep in mind, all your hands don’t have to be an 11 to dish out an easy win (The cards can be cruel to you). You play every card you possibly can, and you work with your margins of error for each of the three hands.
