Casting Call for the Week of January 10th
We constantly get emails and Tweets from people who want to win big money on game shows. A few casting notices for big network or smaller cable games have gone out recently and I wanted to be sure to cover. Luckily there are a few shows out there for kids to enter as well, so the entire family can get in on it.
*GSN’s The Newlywed Game looks to be coming back for a fifth season. This is only the second GSN original game show to ever make it to five seasons; the other being Lingo. They are looking for new couples of newlyweds to play the game and try to win a second honeymoon. To be eligible you just need to be married for less than two years. Click here to view the casting notice.
*The Gurin Company, behind shows like Lingo and Weakest Link, is currently looking for Los Angeles based contestants for a run through of a new format. This isn’t the actual show, just a run through, but you will get some money for it. It’s for an NBC trivia game show, and they are looking for people knowledgeable in one specific area, like technology, fashion, rock music, sports, and things like that. I looked through The Gurin Company’s library and I can’t find anything that matches, so we’ll all be surprised. If you want involved, click here.
*We devoted a story to ABC’s currently-casting quiz show You Deserve It!, which you can read here. I just wanted to be sure to plug it again and say if you wanted to go for this big money primetime quiz show, email the show by clicking here and fill out an application sent to you.
*Cartoon Network’s Hole in the Wall has been a big hit, and they’re looking for families still to compete in its new season. Teams of three are needed, and teams need to be comprised of at least one adult over 18 and one child over 10. You can click here to learn about all future casting for the show. They are having a special casting call at Boomers in Irvine, California, this Saturday (January 15th) at 12:00PM, so be sure to head out there if interested.
*Nickelodeon’s hit kids game show Brainsurge has been picked up for another season. We get pelted with questions about how to be a contestant for the show often, and now’s your chance if this is you. Kids between the age of 11 and 14, plus an adult, will compete for prizes when the show tapes from February through March in Los Angeles. To apply, visit NickContestants.com by clicking here. This is a nationwide casting search and will allow anyone apply, so this is your chance to be in television if you and your kid (or you and your parent) have always wanted to.
*There’s a new game show currently looking for contestants for a pilot presentation called Big Talkers. The Los Angeles based game basically wants contestants who can talk their way into anything. If you are persuasive, smart, and great at debating, then this is for you. I can’t find much else about the show or who it’s for, though. Note that this is not for airing. This is just a pilot presentation. However, as always, if you participate you will be considered for the actual show if it gets picked up, though. Click here to email the crew and play the game.
If I missed anything, or if there are any notices you want to include, be sure to let us know. Otherwise, it looks like there’s a lot of good games for the entire family to get involved with.

Wonder what this new NBC show could be? It’s great to see Nickelodeon have extended success with Brainsurge when you consider their great history of game shows.
Sounds like a possible revival of Beat the Geeks, the rumor of that show coming back has been around.
Sony’s website has registration and details of the annual Jeopardy! Online Test (the show’s website has not been updated yet), to be held February 8-10, the week before the Watson shows are set to air. I was able to register, choosing Washington DC over NYC, Boston, Orlando, Lexington KY, Kansas City, LA, Seattle, and Honolulu…
Awkward. I’ll be in Paris at the time of the test. Might still have to wing it.
They need to revive the kids game show “Legends of the Hidden Temple.” That show rocked when I was a kid.
In 2011, there might be an NFL lockout so the only good thing on NBC is Sunday Night Football might be out for the seasom. return of Deal or no deal anyone?
