BuzzerVision: Pointless (Part 1)
Dirty Rotten Cheater meets The Fuse in a new BBC game show called Pointless. In Pointless, five teams of two players try to figure out the least popular answers to surveys given to 100 people. The more popular an answer is, the higher you score (Wrong answers score 100 points by default). The team with the most points after each round is eliminated. It’s pointless to say any more, because we’ve got video.

Intriguing concept…
It's like playing Family Feud, only backwards. I could see it working somewhere in the States. Just, less contestants, sped up game play. A good fit for syndication or a big money prime-time show…
Wow, this is a hard and interesting game. A trivia version of golf.
Robert Palmer: I agree with you on both counts. I couldn't help but play along, and truly thought the losing answer (I don't want to spoil it) was actually a good one. But, considering that one little rule about the UN, I get it. Bummer. LOL :)
If only Mark Goodson could've come up with this one…YEARS AGO!!! This is definately a winner!!!!
This is a really good game and whoever came up with the name to this is clever.
Why oh why can't I live in the UK?
It's pointlessly slow, and its pointless jokes will become pointless very soon. Love the show, though. Absolutely astounding the knowledge from the UK contestants.
(MrQuiz: If only Mark Goodson could’ve come up with this one…YEARS AGO!!! This is definately a winner!!!!) I agree, MrQuiz, this could’ve been his last and greatest acheivement unlike Crosswords with Merv Griffin (although it tried).
Having said, I love this show. While the pace is actually slower than Family Feud, this could work in syndication. If the Money List is indeed cancelled, I would love to see Fred Roggin hosting it.
I like this show. It is a bit repetitive though to have five rounds of exactly the same sort of question. I feel like the "Pointless" concept would be better in the context of another show, like as a special round in Family Feud.
It surprises me that such a low-budget show (with a top prize of only a couple thousand pounds and no consolation prizes, even for the main game winners) has such a huge set.
Lastly, there is an audience present but I really doubt they're doing the "whoooooooa" noise for every single answer. That sound effect got old very quickly.

Really, its far too slow and boring for me. I gave up during the first segment. It's old, boring and dusty, doesn't anyone else think?
Anyone else notice they've recycled the nametags from Golden Balls?
Jason, as a member of the studio audience in show 14 – the whooooo is no sound effect. We were told to do it for every answer, and oddly as you got more wrapped up in the taping, and thinking of the answers you would give if you were across the studio floor on the stage, there does come a point when you don't realise you are doing it!
The audience cut-aways by the way were recorded during a break in the gameplay – that is why some of the smiles and clapping look a bit forced, and some people look bored.
