Love Alfonso Riebero and love Mikki Padilla.
However, one thing that really gets me about this how is that when Mikki calls out the cards she says "you have A 4, or A 5 or A Jack, etc." The only true long A's or only in ABC or acorn. The other a's are all short a's. She should be saying - you have a (uh)4 - not A 4, you have A seven (should be saying them in short a's - not long a's) drives me crazy. If you are hosting a television show - someone should be telling you not to call out the cards incorrectly. What I am referring to is calling the card out with long A's rather than short A's.
I wish they would correct this so we do not look like idiots and not set a bad example to everyone watching this show. Thanks and I do love the show but have trouble watching it because they cannot call out the cards correctly.

Yo Josh, I'm with you on a "gimmicky" catch 21 top prize of $21,000.

If at all, I think the contestant should get $1,000 guaranteed, but make the final round worth $20,000 (so it's a top prize of $21,000)

---

The Game is played with first a chance at $5,000, then the chance to gamble it all on one hand at blackjack (with a '21' getting the bet quadrupled)

To win the $5,000, they must "Catch 21" with only 1 hand (just like the current end game, but with only "one hand" to play with instead of 3)

They have the "Burger King Power Chips" in play again.

And if they get "16 or better" they could walk away with $1,000 more.

If the player busts, or fails to "catch 21" they win the $1,000 earlier from the main game.

---

If the contestant can "Catch 21" in the first part of the end game,

They get to decide rather or not to play a game of "blackjack" where if they could beat the dealer, they could double the bet or win FOUR times the amount if they "Catch 21" at the table.

Any leftover "powerchips" can be used to throw out ANY CARD on the table (the contestant or the dealer)

If they beat the dealer - it's doubled
If they beat the dealer with a 21 - it's quadrupled
If they bust, or lose - any leftover money + the $1,000 earlier.

---

But that's just me, I just think there needs to be a "blackjack" final round, with a dealer, considering that's what the game is all about.

The rest of the show is amazing, it's Gambit, but in a nice "Technicolor Dreamcoat"

I regret that I've barely even seen "Catch 21" at this point, relying on only the YouTube clips to teach me about the show, but wasn't the contestant supposed to get the chance to quit after the $5,000 win? It seemed that this bonus round was just rushed into making another grand prize winner.

Should there be a second bonus round, I think it would be fun and gimmicky idea to make the [redesigned set of a] bonus round worth $21,000.

Kathy did a good job playing the bonus game. Congratulations Kathy! Oh, by the way, trash the bonus round set.

I agree with the poster, I have no idea how they changed from the main game set to the bonus game set. Several game shows changed from the main game set to the bonus game set (with Shopping Spree being my favorite), but the way they do it must be a "game show mystery".

Other than that, congradulations Kathy on winning the grand prize of $25,000!

To me the bonus set looks like a redecoration of GSN's IGaS set (note the big TV monitor in the same spot).

I still think this bonus round is too hard but whatever, that was really exciting.

it should be obvious now that ideally you want 11s because there are are 16 cards in the deck worth 10. (the face cards and the 10s) whereas for any other number there are only 4 ways to get it on one card.

Actually, Kathy is the second grand prize winner on Catch 21. About two weeks ago, Jevin Smith caught one 21 and had two 11s in the bonus round. After playing his power chips wisely, he got the cards needed to win the $25K. When Alfonso co-hosted GSN Live last week, Jevin dropped by to talk about this experience.

That was a set of great starting cards, with well-played strategy. Good job, and we have our first grand prize winner! I'm very excited.
