VIctoria Coren Rides Again! Thanks for hte first taste of the new series…
(I so aced the Dropped Vowels round, and got the Assassins in the 1st Wall almost straight away…)

Wow. I have just two words for this — Awe. Some. :)

If only we had an educational network in the US, this'd be a slam-dunk as an intercollegiate competition.

You mean like PBS, A&E, TLC, Discovery and like that?
There's plenty of possibilities, but someone has to have the stones to take a chance on it…

Last night, and the previous Monday, saw the two semi-finals of the second series. The first semi-final represented the first time I was quietly disappointed by some of the questions and the contestants, but the second semi-final was the best (and, gasp, genuinely funniest) episode of the show I can remember. Great contestants, great questions, big emotions, all manner of fun. Show of the year so far, even.

  • Tataki Inu says:

Well, I got the Doctor Who connection on the second wall. I haven't gotten a single other connection anywhere else in the show.
