Bob Eubanks Returns to “The Newlywed Game” Tonight on GSN

It’s a pretty exciting night for those who like GSN’s revival of The Newlywed Game.  Host of the classic version Bob Eubanks will finally return to the host’s podium, grilling couples on intimate details.  Since Bob is hosting this special episode, current host Carnie Wilson will be a contestant along with her husband.  Her opponents will be other members of her family.  The winning family, like in the other numerous celebrity shows (so many it’s incredibly annoying, which goes for Catch 21 as well), gets $10,000 for charity.  Take a look below.  The Newlywed Game really is Bob’s game and it’s great seeing him back finally since he’s made it clear without outright saying it that he wanted to host this one.  Maybe we would have gotten a Bob Eubanks reality show then?  It probably would be easier to watch.

A Bob Eubanks reality show? I'm not sure if I can picture that. I think I only tried watching the one with Chuck Woolery only once when it was still on. The channel doesn't need any more reality shows. I think any person working for the channel has lost sight of what GSN stands for.

No more reality mentions Alex – PLEASE! The channel is on its last legs with game shows as it is!

Yeah… I saw it a little while ago. Personally, I thought Carnie was funnier than him. *Waits for screaming mob to carry him to his doom*

I loved Bob's last line, "If you like what I did, I'm Bob Eubanks. If you didn't, I'm Bob Barker." Really funny. All in all, he did a great job of hosting, as always. The problem was that if you listen to the audience at time, you can tell where they edited this…and they edited him down considerably! It was sad to see a legend like this, on what is essentially his show, be edited down to a few sound bites and questions…Frankly, I'm glad he didn't get to host this version. I would never want to see him get chopped up like that on a regular basis. It was just hard to watch.

That being said, he looked great for 70+. He still has the ability to adlib and create moments of severely awkward silence with the best of them.

I missed this episode. Will GSN be airing it again?

Bob hasn't missed a beat. This was a really good show. Kinda rusty at times (please don't be mad), but Bob is the man of The Newlywed Game.

Agreed! Bob looks GREAT! He would've been really good and great if he weren't edited so much, but you can tell that he would've been SOOO much better if he weren't. Still great to see him at over 70 and truly still on top of everything!!!

Alex, please stop dreaming of Reality shows. A Bob Eubanks Reality show is not going to happen. Never was going to happen, and never will happen.

This network doesn't need anymore Reality shows. This is supposed to be a network showcasing old and new game shows, not a network showcasing Reality shows (Yes, I don't consider Reality shows in the same umbrella as game shows, and no one can make me change my stance on that). Do you really want this network to lose touch of what it's supposed to be?

I'm not sure if what Alex said about a Bob Eubanks Reality show was meant to be funny, but if it was, I was certainly not laughing that's for sure.

If GSN went down that road. its ratings surely will tell nobody wants a Reality Show on there. When did game shows & reality started becoming a blurr all of a sudden?(still feels upset of the OLG mess)
