Bob Barker will be grabbing the microphone for the final time on the set of “The Price is Right” on June 6th. In a recent interview, Barker said the secret to hosting a game show well is the ability to listen to the contestants. He stated “Too many are thinking of what they should say next instead of picking up on what the contestants are telling them. These people are little gems with which you can create laughter and good times.” When asked how he maintains his energy, he said “Booze.” Most amusingly though, Bob said he doesn’t know why his show and he are so popular among colleges. Maybe from his famous line in the movie Happy Gilmore. “I’ve been in television 50 years and what am I going to be remembered for? The Price is Wrong, bitch.”

June 6: I predict several blackout from excessive use of VCRs, DVD recorders and Tivos.

June 6 is the final day of taping. It is not when Barker’s final episode will air.

This will sound kinda awkward, but here goes…
For my b-day (in April), I asked my parents if they’d buy 4 tickets to Barker’s last show (them 2, me and a fellow GS fan). They said yes, so, now, knowing this, I’ll be logging some time in trying to get them.
Wish me luck! :D

Whether the show will be a regular daytime show, or a special of some kind, it will be one T.V. history. IMO, it wouldn’t hurt to have some sort of big win or major surprise sendoff for the King of M.C.’s, it just seems proper.

CBS should’ve done a $1,000,000 Spectacular show for Bob Barker’s final appearence.

@ Wheelloon:
You don’t have to BUY tickets to the show. They’re free. Go to http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/tickets/ and get your tickets there. You can find ordering information and the taping schedule and everything.
I’ve been, and it’s QUITE an experience. When Bob comes striding through those doors, it sounds like the roof is gonna blow off the place! Just make sure you get your tickets WELL IN ADVANCE of your trip. And get ready to hurry up and wait once you get there the day of the taping!

Yeah, I sorta worded that wrong in my post, LOL. Thanks Patrick.
I’m hoping, actually, that I won’t end up having to pay for his FINAL show. What I mean, specifically, is the demand might be so high that CBS could start charging (probably not), or, I may have to pay an individual off big-time for 4 tickets so they’ll let me have them. ;)

Bob’s farewell episodes will have a $1,000,000 Spectacular plus another prime time show butonly three pricing games will be played, in addition to observing the best and funniest clips from the past 35 seasons. We hopefully expect the episodes to air during the May sweeps, with the final daytime show with Bob Barker to air as early as June 15, hoping that there are no additional pre-emptions.
