After 15 months on the air, Bert’s Family Feud is cancelled. Bert Newton himself only just got word yesterday. The show was meant to be competition to Deal or No Deal, and sadly, did not fare well. It had only 580,000 viewers, compared to Deal’s 917,000.
The final show of Bert’s Family Feud will air June 1st.

If we’re focusing on just the numbers, 971,000 vs. 580,000, I thought Bert’s Feud’s viewership is still ok. But what do I know more, eh? Watching those clips on YouTube and other web sites, I thought it was a brilliant remake. I hope the programming directors at Nine have better plans.

If it was opposite Deal I’m amazed it got that much. It’ll be back quick.

a real BAW-BOW to the show! I hoped something like this was here in the U.S. But, as game shows are: The Feud will return.

Bummer, man! And I really liked it, too, from what I saw off YouTube, anyway.
But, like it has many a time…the Feud will return.

I knew Bert’s Family Feud wasn’t going to last, maybe if it had a better time slot and didn’t go head-to-head with Mr. O’Keefe and DoND……
It was fun though, while it lasted. Maybe someone will win the $100,000 one more time before it signs off, that would be nice.

It is sad… I was hoping our version would quit the “$20,000 no matter what” thing. (I want to see a $100,000 FM win.) (FREMANTLE BEWARE)

Unfortunate. I thought Bert’s show looked very slick compared to the US version(s). The graphics and set were far superior to even the JO’H show.

I’m not surprised. Even though they advertised a big payout, the show as a whole was fairly cheap, with the lack of any money in the front game, the non-guaranteed Bert’s Bonuses and the all-or-nothing end game. Sorry, but seeing five-day champs like the MacLean, Smith and Peart families leave with low four-figure sums can’t be too impressive, especially since Feud doesn’t have the constant risk-reward element of DoND.
Looking at the numbers, though, I still wonder if Nine isn’t pulling out too early. Unless the ratings have been slipping consistently, or they have a show on deck that they think can do better, I think Moon Face should get a second chance.

The possible $100K payout might work in the US. Heck, let’s move Bert to the US to replace O’Hurley. We could make the Bonuses guaranteed and add cash to the main game.

It is SO SO SO disappointing, it was my favourite programme, I would arrive home from work&
look foward to watching bert who i find very amusing.I think it is silly to compaire it with deal or
no deal as it isnt even the same kind of show!!Why take a show off air that is definitely well
liked? its unfair and im so gutted. please bring back BERT!!
