“Baggage” Begins Syndication Test Run January 10th
Fans of GSN’s hit original show Baggage are going to get another chance to check it out. The Jerry Springer hosted dating game show, previously only seen on GSN, will be going into a syndicated test run starting Monday, January 10th. The test run will only be in ten markets around the country, but if it does well it could expand wider. This is GSN’s first series to be syndicated since it began operation in 1994. Here’s a list of the stations Baggage will go to and the times.
Chicago: WCIU (The U): 12:00PM
Tampa: WTTA (MyNetwork): 11:00PM
Minneapolis: WUCW (The CW): 5:00PM
Pittsburgh: WPMY (MyNetwork): 10:00PM
Raleigh: WRDC (MyNetwork): 10:00PM
Baltimore: WNUV (The CW): 5:00PM
Cincinnati: WSTR (MyNetwork): 7:00PM
Milwaukee: WVTV (The CW): 5:00PM
Birmingham: WABM (MyNetwork): 9:30PM
Las Vegas: KVCW (The CW): 10:00PM
Is it airing in your market? Be sure to check it out and tell people that haven’t seen the show yet to look out for it. If it does well it could go national, so we’ll keep you posted.

Interesting to see this happen, and nice to see it isn’t all at 2am…
Any idea if they will be airing season 1 & 2 or possibly just one or the other, or both?
Wow, they are dropping “The Office” reruns in Cincy for this. Interesting bold move for that station.
Well, at least I can see Baggage in HD. >_>
With the exception of WCIU in Chicago, the rest of the list are Sinclair stations.
Interesting that this syndication test run isn’t going on in NYC or LA.
But hopefully the show will perform well enough to be syndicated in those markets…
I thought Hollywood Showdown with Todd Newton was syndicated?
I thought that was PAX, not syndication.
…and Shreveport is not mentioned in this group. Well, I hope it does go well in syndication, they could get a new audience. If it does go well, could we see (revivals of) Lingo, Whammy, Catch 21 or the Newlywed Game in syndication? Only time will tell.
Showdown was on PAX and GSN in 2000, then on GSN in 2001-02 and again in reruns in 2004-05, and then on TV Guide Network in reruns circa 2007.
In Fall 1995, syndicated reruns of Lifetime’s SUpermarket Sweep and Shop Till You Drop had a rollout like Baggage, and didn’t do well enough to get picked up for further syndication. Ditto Debt in Spring 1998. Reruns of Cash Cab are starting Monday on a larger lineup of stations in syndication, as per cashcabmgm.com.
yah Im getting Cash Cab as of Monday on the local NBC station, replacing Extra.
I wonder if the CW +100 group will put Baggage in rotation… (just checked, nope :( )
It will be great to see a GSN show for the first time in a long time, since my family downgraded the cable, lol.
Not surprised at all to see Cincinnati as one of the test markets.
Odds are good I knew of Jerry Springer before you did. In the ’70s, he was a city councilman and, later, mayor. When my family and I relocated to Dayton in the ’80s, he was just beginning a well-remembered stint as anchorman at WLWT in Cincy.
Less said about his talk show the better. But I’m glad it opened the door for other hosting opportunities — including the UK’s version of “Greed” (he was born in London) as well as “Baggage” and “America’s Got Talent”.
