Well recently a new Rich Fields interview has been posted revealing pretty much anything you need to know about Rich Fields leaving the show. More information including a link to the interview after the break. (more...)

Rumor Control: New Trivial Pursuit Host?

Back in December we reported Mark L. Walberg was set to host Trivial Pursuit: America Plays. While true at the time, it looks like his contract with Fox may have gotten in the way of hosting this syndicated show coming September 22nd. There is a new name floating around. The Brady Bunch's Christopher Knight (Peter Brady) may be your new host. He's been in the spotlight lately after marrying model Adrienne Curry, with whom he was a contestant with on The Surreal Life. They currently have a reality show together on MTV called My Fair Brady. Anyways, enough Brady Bunch history for one post. I personally believe it, cause why actually have a game show hosted by a game show host. That's ridiculous these days, hu

World Poker Tour to FSN

Season Seven of World Poker Tour is going to Fox Sports Network, or as known these days FSN.  Season Six had aired on GSN, but as we reported, they lost the rights to the show. Long-time announcers Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patton will return to the show. Season VII shouldn't begin for awhile due to only two tournaments have been played so far, so no need to mark your calendars yet.

Feud/Wipeout Ratings

The much anticipated Celebrity Family Feud hosted by Al Roker did pretty well in it's 8pm hour on NBC. Scoring a 2.3/7 rating, or 8.77 million viewers if you don't care to work that out. The show was reached with mixed reviews, but I can see the number going up next week. However, the show that slipped under our radars, Wipeout actually scored #1 for the timeslot on ABC with a 3.7/12 rating, or 9.85 million viewers. Over a million more than Feud. #2 for the night over the networks, only trailing the big hit America's Got Talent. Pretty shocking actually, but I think it deserves it. I just hope it can hold on to the rating. The format may get repetitive, but come on, who would get tired of the crash and burn

ION Television ALSO Picks Up O’Hurley’s “Family Feud”

Does the title seem familiar to you? Yeah it does to me as well. On Monday, we announced GSN's acquisition of John O'Hurley's first two seasons of Family Feud. Well it was announced on Tuesday that ION Television, a network that used to be known as PAX has also picked up the show. It begins on April 7th which is actually a month before it premieres on GSN. The show will air at 7pm & 7:30pm. That's right, two airings. Check your local listings for times in your area though. ION Television (PAX) back in the day used to air shows such as Supermarket Sweep and Shop Til' You Drop every night until they changed formats and have recently become your TV Land of channels airing such classics as Mama's Family,

Heath Ledger 1979 – 2008

I know this probably isn't news to anyone, but actor Heath Ledger died earlier today. While this isn't really game show related, I'm sure all of us can agree dying at the age of 28 with such a promising career ahead of him really sucks.  We here at BuzzerBlog send out our condolences to the Ledger family.

Reminder: Final Day of Nick GAS

As previously reported Nickelodeon GAS is ceasing production after 6am tomorrow (12/31) morning. This is your final chance to watch and DVR shows like GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Figure it Out, Get the Picture, Double Dare 2000, and Nick Arcade. While they say it's going Broadband, for some reason I don't think Viacom cares enough to actually go through with it. While the channel may be crap now, the shows are still golden and this is your last shot to see them.

Game Show Segment featured on ESPN

Former 2-Minute Drill host Kenny Mayne is back at it in the game show world. Well, he at least covered a segment for ESPN on game shows. It features Wink Martindale, Pat Sajak, Howie Mandel, Claudia Jordan, and Ken Jennings. They discuss Randy Moss' attempt in getting a new game show on the air. This is a comedy segment where pretty much every guest in this short two and a half minute segment are acting out of character. It's really funny, just give it a watch. Click HERE for the video.

Playmania Cancelled Thumbnail

Playmania Cancelled

Following the October 31st edition of Playmania/Quiznation, the show will be no more as GSN has cancelled what used to be a really good show. The show really started to slip when they decided that doing pretty much 3 games a show was better than 10 games a show. This transition happened after the Goddess Mel Peachey left the show back in April. Replacing the two hour block is another two hour block of...you guessed it! Reruns! At 12am we get some fun Who Wants to Be a Millionaire which I'm sure everyone is excited for. But then the actual good news starts as for 5 days a week, 1am to 2am consists of Trivia Trap and Now You See It. This may be a good step in the right direction for GSN. But it's probabl

Nick GAS to go Broadband-Only Thumbnail

Nick GAS to go Broadband-Only

Nickelodeon Games and Sports (Nick GAS), a once popular kids channel to see the many game shows Nickelodeon produced in the 90s, has announced that they will be going Broadband-Only. The reason for the replacement is The N Noggin, two seperate channels that shared one, are going to be spliting up into their own channels, and Nick GAS 's slot gets one of them. The channel used to have such a variety of shows, blocks, and segments with hosts such as Dave Aizer, Vivianne Collins and Mati Moralejo. A network that used to show 20-25 shows a week, now only shows 6 shows a day with each host being dropped from the network, with it being a sign that Nickelodeon just doesn't care anymore for this channel. They ha
