Audition and Audience Roundup

It’s that time of the year when game shows begin taping for their new Fall 2009 season.  There’s a lot of information out there about each show; it may get confusing.  I’ll try to put all the information in one simple place for you all, mixed with my needless negative commentary!  How fun.  First off, let’s start with Millionaire.  I’m getting a lot of emails from people wanting to know how to be a part of the ABC 10th anniversary primetime revival.  Road auditions are taking place right now across the east coast, and they’ll expand later.  Here are the locations and specific places we know of now, directly from the site.

Saturday, June 13th: NASHVILLE AUDITIONS, COUNTRY MUSIC FEST
HILTON NASHVILLE DOWNTOWN, 7AM TO 11AM (call back interviews from 12:30PM to 4:00PM)

Monday, June 15th: CHARLOTTE AUDITIONS , MCGLOHON THEATRE

Tampa is still being figured out, but that’s on June 19th. Remember that you can be chosen for either the syndicated edition hosted by Meredith Vieira or the ABC edition hosted by Regis Philbin. That’s up to the producers.

In other audition news, Family Feud will actually be traveling to five major US cities this season looking for families to compete for up to $150,000 and a new car.

If you don’t want to audition, there’s lots of opportunities to see a game show tape on either coast.  If you’re stuck in Middle America, whoops.  Family Feud begins taping June 7th and looks to tape on Sundays and Mondays essentially all day.  If you’re interested in being that audience, click here.  From my personal experience, I can tell you it’s a ton of fun.  The Price is Right is constantly going and tickets can be received from TVTix.  Millionaire is not taping just yet, but those dates will pop up shortly.

Many pilots are gearing up as well; many in New York City.  The Dating Game is shooting another pilot for a potential CBS Daytime revival on June 30th, and you can click here for those.  The one I’m sure most of you care about is the Pyramid pilot.  Those dates are listed.  It’ll tape on June 16th and June 17th throughout the day.  I’m a huge Pyramid fan so I’ll definitely be at that taping.  You can click here to be at it as well.
