“American Gladiators” Season Two Preview

Here’s something many of you will love all thanks to our urge to really amp up the videos on the site. We have a preview of three of the games from the new season of American Gladiators exclusively for you. Two new events are shown, Vertigo and Rocket Ball. Also shown is Assault, but be happy that they simplified it this year. The layout and weapon design is still the same, but no more loading your weapons or finding arrows in sand pits or anything like that.

that first one (which I’m assuming is vertigo) scares me, I’d never be able to do that.

Swingshot (the second game) looks alright except I don’t like how everyone hits a button to launch themselves, it looks too cartoony, plus the setup looks too small. it would ahve been better if it were like the old one where you sue your own momentum to bounce into the air

Assault (game 3) looks fine, I dont really see why they kept the sand pit there but whatever,

It’s kind of nice to see the game without music.

  • Cory says:

Well, it was really nice to see that you don’t have a “two-part weapon” anymore…just the weapon in the sandpit that you can fire, which is great. I can’t wait to see the next season.

  • LaJuan says:

MarcPower, that is not Swingshot. It is it’s cousin, RocketBall.

I hated swingshot so I doubt I will like rocket ball…Vertigo looks Interesting. Moving to the old LA sports Arena was a Bold and needed move…this 1st season set (which looked like Dog Eat Dog’s old set) was WAY TOO SMALL, especally with the Pyramid U-turn in the eliminator.

I wish they revived some classics like Breakthrough and conquer…let the athletic ability do the talking…this was the secret to the original’s golden years.

the lids on powerball are not needed, the rule in the original was the ball could not leave your hand until it was over the pod…not a hard concept to grasp, the lids were needed (the basketball plays were awful) hopefully they also fixed the rule about tackles out of bounds which were illegal in the original but legal (and resulted in 2 injuries) in the new version.

I liked season 1 though so I will tune in again…wish they canned hogan and went with Larry Van Nuys and Lelia Ali as a 2 man booth like they did with Czonka and Adamle. Hogan is too busy being hogan…any pics of the season 1 winners as gladiators (if they really did that)

Well, I’m definitely looking forward to the next season now. Vertigo looks rather neat. Rocket Ball looks really cool; it reminds me of kind of a reverse Swingshot, in that the balls go into the center column instead of being pulled off of it. And I’m glad to see that they seem to have fixed Assault.

Oh, and it’ll be quite interesting to see how last season’s winners do as Gladiators. I’ve seen pics of them on the show’s official site, and, well, one thing is for sure; they look cool.

Has anybody mentioned “Skytrack”‘s return to the Gladiators. That should also be very challenging.

  • I’m so excited for this tonight I might explode.

I just posted some blogs about the new season of Gladiators even.
