“American Gladiators” Renewed for a Second Season
NBC seems to be leading the network battle of unscripted shows (until American Idol shows its sorry face on television again sadly). Their newest show, the revival of the hit 90s show American Gladiators, has been renewed for a second season according to B&C. The show has been a strong performer, seeing over 12 million viewers on its debut and a very strong showing on its regular Monday slot. No word on how many episodes are ordered or when it’ll start, but I’d bet a few dollars and say fairly soon.
A few other news pieces about Gladiators. A live tour is currently being planned to capitalize on the success of the show. Also, MGM and Flor-Jon are in the process of developing an….animated series? Really? I can’t wait to see how this would turn out.
NBCU co-chairman Ben Silverman recently confirmed that all Gladiators went through steroid testing, and all came out clean. By signing on to the show, the Gladiators has to state that they are/will remain clean and can go through testing at any time. Can you imagine Hellga on steroids? *shivers*
If your wondering why Hellga looks that big because she is a professional strongwoman.

Just a couple of tweaks are needed for the new season. (like the return of Atlassphere and maybe Swingshot.)
…or perhaps a live two-man booth like the good old days (Hogan with Adamle, maybe?)
Much better than the current canned variety, though I don’t mind Van Earl as much as some do.
Looks like the show is settling in a bit. Less 3-2-1-break and the action is great. Still would like to see an extra event or two, and would they PLEASE FIX ASSAULT! Have the weapons ready to fire at all stations and get rid of the stupid slingshot. What is this, Double Dare?
Animated series?
Looks like we are going back to the 1990s where the likes of Hulk Hogan and Harlem Globetrotters being turned into 2D.

Some great ideas here. For a 2 man booth I’d probably go w/ Van Earl Wright(the current PBP guy) and maybe Dan “Nitro” Clark.
As for the Animated series wasn’t there a movie in the works during the Original AG run.
Bring Back Atlasphere. Fix assault. And Get rid of the Hulkster.
