Whoops, I must have missed this one in the confusion of everything that’s been going on around here. Al Roker is apparently guest hosting “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” this week, taking the place of his “Today” co-worker and current “Millionaire” host Meredith Vieira. Check it out and be sure to tell us how he’s doing.

UGH! Al Roker? I couldn’t change the channel fast enough. Glad to read he is only guest hosting for a week.

I saw Al’s first episode tonight, and I was really impressed with his enthusiasm and his banter with the contestants. If I was Michael Davies, I would make him ‘permanent’ substitute host!

Just watched Al and all I wanted was for Meredith to show up and take over. He was pretty bad.

It’s not Al’s first game show… although I’m probably the only person who remembers MSNBC’s “Remember This?” a few years ago.
Regardless, I think he’ll be fine.

I was expecting him to do a lot worse. He did pretty good, all things considered. If it had been Willard, we would have been in big trouble.

Al Roker should try to see of NBC can give him the job to host the Deal Or No Deal daytime version or syndication in 2008.

Al was pretty good. His pacing could’ve been a bit better, plus his timing of his schtick took away from the continuity of the game. Overall, I was impressed. I wouldn’t mind Roker hosting Millionaire more often, or if he had the opportunity to host his own show. I think Roker would be a great fit on 1 vs. 100…

Al Roker?
Whenever I hear that man’s name, I immediately think of Lewis Black’s skit about him. ;)

Ooh. I got to check this out tomorrow when I get home from work. Looks like mixed reviews on here.

Al Roker’s self-branded production company is devoted to “all things Roker.” With Roke filling
in for his “Today” co-host and ex-”60 Minutes” collaborator Meredith Vieira, he will asker the two most intellectual words coined by former “Tiswas” co-host Chris Tarrant: “Final answer?” Find
the great Mr. Roker online at http://www.alroker.com.

AL rooker was very good on wwtbam he wasnt as boring as Meredith.

Al is loud, uncomfortable and tries to steal the show. I love this show but I won’t watch it if they keep Al Roker. The host should complement the contestant—not over-power them. Meredith does a great job of letting the contestant be the center of attention. Meredith, please come back!!!!

Roker is a complete mismatch for this type of show. I’m sure he’s a nice guy but he’s been acting like did a mixture of crack and meth before going on the show. I’m sure that he would
do quite well on Family Feud or something equally moronic. Meredith must have asked him to host because she knew that everyone would worship her once she came back.

I can’t watch the show with Al Roker. The guy is a complete turn off. I’d be really upset if I was a sponser. Nobody is watching the show this week. Dart’s to the person who made the decision to use this loudmouth.
The good news is that in ten minutes I can go back to my Tv.

Al Roker was terrible all week. I am a huge fan of the show, I tape every episode, and I found myself suffering through the whole show while he is hosting it. He definitely tries to steal the show, his jokes are lame and moronic, and he seems to enjoy making the candidate suffer long after the “final answer” is given. Although Meredith does that once in a while too, she is much more subtle. He just sits there smiling and talking nonsense while the candidate awaits for the answer. He is TERRIBLE. I could not stand him, and this fake energy/enthusiasm is so inappropriate for an intellectual game such as the millionaire.
Please, now that the week is over, never again Al Roker, pppllllleeaaase

My best friend was a contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on Monday, March 5th with Al Roker. She was the first contestant who walked out with him when the show started. Anyway, I taped the show but my husband accidently taped over the show to record something he wanted to see. My friend does not have a copy of the show and has already been told that the show does not provide copies to the contestants. Can anyone help me out by letting me know if by some chance you recorded that show and could make me a copy to give to my friend. I would be most appreciative!
Thanks…Sharron

And on another sub host note, Tom Bergeron will be the sub host for Millionaire for the week of May 14-18, 2007.
