ABC’s “Six Minds” Now Casting
ABC has begun casting for the Russian import The Six, now called Six Minds. Click here to email the staff that you are interested or call the contestant hotline at (323) 785-2119 for more information. Vernon Kay hosts the show that uses logic puzzles sent in from home viewers. Big money is apparently up for grabs, given the headline on the casting notice is “BIG CASH PRIZES”. The show is set to debut sometime this summer and I’d venture it’ll be after the fun Shaq Vs. returns to the air this summer. We’ll keep you posted. Interested to see what you’ll be in for? Here’s another clip of the show. I’m very excited for the show; it looks incredibly unique for American audience. And that means it’s probably not going to last long. However, I can hope. Six Minds is from Merv Griffin Entertainment, and I’m sure you’ve heard of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, which are other shows from him and the company.

I absolutely agree with you Alex, this looks like an interesting show and I hope that it does well and not fade off into the sunset. And IMO, we need more shows like this in the states!!!!!
Alex, can you please place the link on the post. It doesn't seem to be appearing here.
I would love to try out for this.
My fault, I forgot to put the link. It's there now. Sorry.
I didn't know Merv's company was still around after Crosswords croaked.
Alex, Slight typo. Merv passed away.
um…sorry. Disregard previous post.
This show is not going to last long especially with Vernon Kay hes annoying on family fortunes. and the show sounds bland imo
I absolutely love this show, it's really interesting to watch even after so many years. I really don't know if the format will work in the USA… From what I know, the American shows don't really like logic – it's usually guesswork, which really won't pass here. Another barrier is the whole atmosphere of the game – in Russia it's presented as a late evening elite club and not as a bunch of "commoners" working together – you can see that from the video. But I really can't wait to see what it's going to be like in the USA.
You can try and watch the programme online btw – I don't know a good site but I guess you can try to use a Russian proxy and go to itv.1tv.ru – it's on at 2320 MSD (3.20 PM Eastern, 12.20 PM Western).
I am not normally of a mind to make snap judgements. But from what I am hearing about this show, it would appear to have "flopsky" written all over it!
Logic puzzles? Most of my fellow Americans–and that would usually include myself!–don't have an ounce of logic in our bones! Show us a logic puzzle, and we scratch out heads and assume a blank look.
Contestants co-operating instead of competing? We are more used to competition, not co-operation!
A show such as this might have a home on PBS or on Bravo–if these two organizations didn't have their collective nose in the air, thinking that they are above such vulgar stuff as "game shows"!
Vernon Kay is an unknown here. However, that doesn't necessarily mean all that much–after all, so was Simon Cowell, and look how well known he is today!
If watching the contestants is entertaining enough, it might work out okay. I can't follow the diagnoses on House, but I still watch that each week.
Personally, I'm ready for a cooperation game show. I'm worried you might be right that America isn't, because while I've gotten my fill of Greed, The Weakest Link, Golden Balls, Divided, Friends vs Foe, etc, the mainstream network viewer probably hasn't.
PBS has had game shows. Carmen Sandiego, Think Twice, and they had one in the 80s I think. Joint venture between Australia, England, and WGBH.
Yes, PBS had game shows. However, in the immortal words of Little Anthony ". . . but that was long ago".
Historically, PBS, Bravo and other stations, networks and cable outlets that cater to the upper classes do not think of game shows. You'd think it would be otherwise. You'd think that a revival of "Information Please" would have been perfect for NET or PBS–after all, no hassles from hard-sell sponsors! You'd think that "College Bowl" would find a home on some high-falutin' outlet, especially if an angel could be found to pony up the bread. You'd think that somebody Out There would see "Only Connect" as the kind of show that would appeal to the intelligentsia, even if the general public could not connect with it at all!
I know that this show will air in late summer. Do you have the exact time and date? Thanks for the info.
