ABC’s “Downfall” is Now Casting

Want a shot at winning some big cash and prizes?  ABC is now casting for their new primetime game show Downfall.  Downfall will be set on top of a skyscraper, and players will race against the clock to answer questions and avoid seeing their fortune fall out of their grasp…literally.  The show is being made by Fremantle and more often than not they come out with good products, and the executive producer of the show is Scott St. John, who did Deal or No Deal so this could be interesting.  Casting producers came to us, and I’d love to get some BuzzerBlog readers to be on the show and win a million bucks.

There are a few ways to apply.  The first is attend the casting call going on in Los Angeles on May 15th.  They say that’s the best way to get on the show, so that may be your best option.  You’ll need an ID, a picture of yourself, and an application which you can download at the casting website by clicking here.  The audition will be at the Highlands Night Club.  Call backs will take place on May 16th and 17th.  The second way to get in the game is email the casting producers by clicking here.  Email them your full name and your city and state.  But whatever you do be sure to go to the casting website by clicking one of the many links in this post or the huge picture below to learn more and fill out an online profile.  Tell them BuzzerBlog sent you.  I love seeing our readers get on shows and winning huge, and you can be the next.

    i applied to be on!'

There seems to be conflicting information about whether the contestants themselves will be dropped down the side of the building. That is an important question for those who want to apply; many people don't want to do that. ABC should issue a definitive statement.

Given that the show appears to be "re-working" the application, it's possible that "Downfall" will be accepting entries via e-mail and/or fax. However, I have a feeling this will be a show that will be open to Los Angeles-based contestants only, especially if they're pushing those who send an e-mail to attend the 5/15 contestant search. Given that "Downfall" is promoting the show via BuzzerBlog and other sites (and it's great that the show is open and getting the word out about it), I'm hoping it will bring in contestants from outside the Los Angeles area to play, especially with the amount of money/prizes allegedly being offered.

I found it interesting that those applying in person need to fill out an application, but not for emailing…

This concept seems incredibly wacky, crazy, and over-the-top!

Then again, I'm sure Jeopardy! once seemed like that, too. Give the answers and have contestants give the questions? Why, that's just crazy! xD

It seems to be good enough for England (the drop)

Wrong answers send prizes over the side of a skyscraper? Well, there goes sixty years of admonitions about littering!

  • I'll be in the studio audience at the bottom of the skyscraper.

As long as the prize thrown over is cash.

    Not a refrigerator.

They said you had to be over 18… So I guess the right word would be requirements or something along the lines of that.
