We have a few things for “Identity”. First off, the logo to the left. So does anyone want to take a bet that we’ll zoom into the game through the hole in the D?
Also, YouTube now has an “Identity” commercial that was shown on NBC. It shows the set, which looks rather small, contains a monitor or two, and twelve different pedistools where the twelve panel members stand. They don’t show the entire money chain, but we do see that the final levels of the chain are $75,000; $100,000; $150,000; $250,000. It looks like the one below $75,000 is $50,000, but we can’t verify that completely. We don’t know what happens with a wrong guess either. So does anyone have any early opinions on this? Personally, I’m looking forward to it. It looks halfway entertaining at least; at least better than “Show Me the Money”. I will give NBC credit also: they may be doing too many game shows, but at least they all are different and not clones of “Deal or No Deal” to capitalize off the success of it.

The concept behind Identity reminds me a lot of TTTT, my favorite panel GS, except spiked a bit. The concept, I believe, is an intriguing, classic, and appealing one, a true test of one’s judgment, one’s ability to “read” others. I’ll be watching, and I expect others will be intrigued too.
As for Penn, I’m not as worried about him hosting as I was about Shatner. I don’t expect this game (at least, I really hope it isn’t) to be a *SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS, GO FRIGGING CRAZY* type game, which I don’t think he’d do well with, but a bit more refined, quietly intense, yet increasingly dramatic show with slightly more intelligent contestants, which I think Penn could pull off. But what the hell do I know, I must remember the production company here…
Who wants to place bets that we might see some “wannabe” poker pros as contestants, saying they can “read” opponents, that’s why they’re good poker players, and they’ll end up doing horribly.LOL, I’d love to see that debacle… ;)

I will note that this is NOT an Endemol show. At least it wasn’t a bit ago, lol.

I will have to check this show out. Hopefully it will be as good as Deal Or No Deal or 1 vs 100. i would love to be either a contestant or one of the twelve that people have to read even though I haven’t seen this i think it will be interesting. as for Penn Im not sure as him as the host of this but hey I could be wrong.

I don’t know about this show. Sounds like it has been done before. As for Penn, he is a magician? The last time a magician hosted a game show I believe was The Amazing Jonathon for the show Ruckus and that wasn’t entertaining.

If I’m thinking of the right person, Penn will do a great job hosting.
And I second the kudos to NBC for starting the new Game Show boom with great shows with interesting concepts. I will deffinatly be tuning in for this show, and I lurve 1 vs 100 and Deal or No Deal.
And what is with the all the Show Me The Money hate? It’s a smart, sofisticated show with a…. *snort* Sorry, I just couldn’t go all the way with that setance…

Howie-”This is alot of money… if you say no deal you HAVE to open Two Cases, Look at the board before deciding… $122,000!… That is alot of money, you have a one in 7 chance of having the Million Dollars in your cases so I have to ask you __________ DEAL or NO DEAL!?!”
Saget- “What Pastry ran away with a Baker? a Muffin, a Gingerbread Person, or a Donut? 73 MOB MEMBERS! vote now… OKAY! DO YOU WANT THE MONEY OR THE MOB!”
Shatner- “Let’s See If you’re right….. or if you’re wrong, NEXT TIME on show me the money, AND REMEMBER TO WATCH BOSTON LEGAL,tuesday nights at 9 on ABC!”
Penn- “YOU FOOL! that was really the stand up comic!”

So I’m not the only one tired of the zoom in through the opening of one of the logo’s letters. All three Endemol shows use it (although 1 vs. 100 zooms through the silhouette).
Just a minor nit that’s getting really overdone.

Penn will be great. He has tons of experience dealing with real people. I was onstage once with him and Teller in Vegas, and he really played me for the fool, then was gracious after the show. He is very intelligent, has potential for developing drama and suspense, and will surely understand and convey the game well. A brilliant pick. So long as the GAME is good, this will be a smash hit. In this regard, I find it hard to see how much game there is by saying that all you do is look at the people. Were there more interaction, say like TTTT, that would be more promising. But we shall see. I’m rooting for this show !

Hopefully, I hope Penn does as good a job as Howie and Bob on their respective shows.

After seeing the commercials for this show, I’m quite curious…it looks like it could be a lot of fun with people at home being able to play with the contestant…can’t wait to see it…
Also, Penn looks like he’s going to do a great job with his intensity…
