We have a few GSN updates that I figured would be best to just place all in one post instead of a few spanning far too much of the page.
*First off, we will have a full preview of Bingo America later tonight. It’s better than How Much is Enough?, I swear.
*Second, Wink Martindale is coming back to GSN Live (which you should really check out if you haven’t, it’s a lot of fun), but not as a guest. No, this time he will actually be hosting the show as regular host Fred Roggin takes the week of March 24th off. Friday’s guest will be host of The Hollywood Squares Peter Marshall as well. This is Wink’s first hosting job in quite some time, isn’t it?
*Next, I would really like to apologize, I completely misjudged How Much is Enough?. The first episode I saw I thought it was fine and not too shabby. As I continued to watch it leveled off into me not caring about the show. So I really did a crappy review for that one when it first came out, and I am sorry. However, many of you will be happy to know that the show is disappearing completely on March 31st. A late breaking scheduling update says that it’s being replaced by Family Feud (Karn) on weekends at 3:30PM ET, Lingo on Saturday nights, and Karn Feud on Sunday nights.
I really think How Much is Enough? could have been better if they tried to include a tiny bit more game into the show. However, it just never got fully to where it should be. Plus seeing people constantly chickening out gets very old very quickly.

I thought How Much’s biggest flaw was the anti-climactic endgame. After having the 5 4-player rounds done with the players locking in secretly, wouldn’t it have made sense for the endgame to be the same, so neither player knew who won until Corbin Bernsen did a big reveal?
And I’m warming up my “Nooooooooooooooo bingo!”. :) I hope I need it… or are you going to tell us they retired the referee?
WOW…I don’t even think “Starface” was wiped off the face of the GSN planet this fast. I think we can safely call this the biggest dud in GSN history as far as an original game show. I’m actually stunned by this, it’s COMPLETELY off the schedule now! Of course, that is going to probably mean we won’t have to see the online minigame commercial 4 times an hour either anymore, to which I say “YAY!” almost as loudly as I say “YAY!” to the outright burial of this show. Which, yes, I thought was just dull and pointless. There was zero at-home playability, every show had the same contestant-strategy formula, and the endgame was even worse than “Friend or Foe”, and BOY, is that saying something. (Sorry, dude, I know you love the show and this IS your website, but the only good “FoF” endgame was the one where that guy cursed up a storm.)
I think the best thing is for all of us to just never speak of this show again. On April 1, maybe GSN can put up a graphic with this show logo and have “April Fool!” superimposed over it…
at first, when i played the online game, (before the show premiered) I thought it might be interesting. but then after seeing the show, I see the problem, how Much is enough is better to play than watch. what might (at least IMO) is if they used the final round rules every round, that being highest and lowest get nothing. that would add more strategy. for the final round I’m really stuck, but they need to figure out a way to keep people from stopping too soon. no offense, Alex but you promised us some wins in excess of $10,000 and the highest i’ve seen yet is $9,400, i’m told someone even stopped at $570. But I must admit I haven’t seen every show. the only thing i can figure (and its a long shot I admit) if instead, the dollar amount was just random and each contestant would get a chance to stop it by hitting their button, the one who stops on the highest numebr wins. but that may not work since they like to emphasize “this is not a game of luck”
the good news i guess is this leaves corbin open to host “The Mole” if he should choose to pursue that.
Really? HMiE is gone? Yippee!
