NBC Orders “Perfect 10″ Stunt Game Show
It's a pretty common joke that if a show is popular somewhere else in the world that America will get the rights, completely dumb it down for any morons out there, and just hope for the best. And with that I give you NBC's new game show order: Perfect 10. Basically you'll be seeing people complete ten common household chores with 60 seconds to complete each one. Every game gets harder as it goes along of course, and if you complete all ten you win $1,000,000. Because nothing is more fun than seeing people scrub the toilet for big money! We have so much fun doing it every day in our own lives that watching other people do it for money that we can't have makes it so much better. Oh hey, I learned sarcasm! This sounds a lot like E

CBS uploaded a cool new video promoting their new daytime game show Let's Make A Deal, starting October 5th. Check what time it airs in your area because it's apparently not at a general set time. Drew Carey of The Price is Right and Wayne Brady, the host of Let's Make A Deal, have some fun on the Price set. Just like old Whose Line is it Anyway? times. Ryan Stiles is on Two and a Half Men. If they somehow get Colin Mochrie on the network they'd basically be ready for the new version of Whose Line.

Have you seen a prize on The Price is Right and just fell in love with it? Want to see it again and potentially have a chance of winning it if you can make it to Los Angeles? Here's your chance. Price is holding a survey right now on its official site (and it's getting quite a bit of attention which is awesome) where you can vote for your favorite prizes of 2009. On the special New Years Eve show (no idea when it's being run so don't bother asking just yet) they'll be giving away the most popular prizes which will most likely be cars and trips. They've given away a ton of incredible cars and trips this year; some of the best I've ever seen. Click here to vote for what you want to see. It's your chance to interact with the show and p

There's been a good deal of information come out recently about the new Hasbro Productions and their partnership/half-takeover of the cable channel Discovery Kids. Here's the basic information we know right now. Hasbro Productions will be rebranding into a new channel in Fall 2010. Hasbro will take over around half of the channel. They will help with original programming for the network from some of their many properties. In addition to toys, Hasbro has an incredibly large board game operation going on. They've got things like Trivial Pursuit and many more already name-dropped. It's not going to be a full new game show network, but there will be quite a few on there. This is extremely evident by one of the real champions of the ge

On Friday's series finale of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, George Smoot became the second person to win the million dollar top prize, and the first man to do so. So congratulations for knowing more than a ten year old. Of course all of this is taken down so many notches after you remember he's a Nobel Prize winner. He helped with the big bang theory. Not the show, the actual thing. And people are amazed and want me to throw tons of praise his way? Give me a break? I mean be honest: was anyone stunned he won? If he didn't get to the 10th question and $500,000 it would have been an embarrassment. If he didn't answer the million dollar question correctly it would have sucked a bit. The only tough decision he had was if he wa

We had a lot of fans of the new UK game show The Cube, which is pretty popular across the pond currently. Here's one game of the most recent episode. It's an exciting one, so definitely take a look at the full game if you can. I swear if some US network or production company doesn't import this they are crazy. It's practically made to be imported here, it seems. Brilliant episode, brilliant show, and brilliant twist at the end. This is easily my favorite game show in a very long time.

Next week (and tomorrow for that matter) is another big one for game show fans. Yeah, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader launches and with its nonexistent PR I can't wait to see the numbers it does, but what is essentially the holy grail of game shows comes back tomorrow with new episodes. The Price is Right will kick off its 38th season. On Friday, September 18th, one leftover show from season 37 which was held back for some reason will air, so be sure to check that out and see why they kept it waiting. But starting Monday, September 21st, all new episodes of Price is Right will resume. A few changes are being made this season, most of which are cosmetic. The turntable area got a complete redo and it actually looks like a game show

Tonight is the first night of the Celebrity Jeopardy Invitational Tournament, with Wolf Blitzer (The Situation Room), Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives), and Andy Richter (The Tonight Show). The Tonight Show shot a little bit of behind the scenes footage, which they showed last night. Here's the clip in its entirety, including portions of the practice game.

If we can keep this a bit away from hardcore politics I'd be happy, but I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that Newlywed Game is adding the first gay couple in the show's history. Both Catch 21 and Newlywed Game are doing celebrity shows. Newlywed Game will feature several matches between celebrity couples such as Christopher Knight and Adrienne Curry, Glenn Cadrez and Brande Roderick, and most exciting to me George Takei and his husband Brad Altman. I'm glad the show is getting modern and inviting all marriages to fit with the current theme and feel. Of course I'm unbelievably liberal so those who aren't may have differing opinions. I'm just glad to see GSN put this addition into the show, so thanks. We're hearing that the ga

In my time doing this site I've seen just about every sort of contestant come through. I've never seen anyone like Alan Carver, a contestant on last Friday's and yesterday's episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. To say he was the most hardcore contestant I've ever seen on this show is an understatement. He's almost terrifying. My thoughts for him range from, "He's funny," to, "OK, I'm starting to get irritated," and it switches back and forth often. I'm really not sure what to fully think. Here's a bit of his appearance and a bit of commentary after. If this isn't proof that the clock needs to start after the choices are read, I don't know what is. This wasn't Regis Philbin pissing around with the clock. Meredith Vieira i

Just a small reminder that Who Wants to be a Millionaire's new money chain begins today. The show starts off with a bang now, at a $500 question and just five right answers now earns the contestant $5,000. Five more for $25,000 with questions 6, 7, and 8 being worth more money. Question 9 only goes down to $15,000 and the rest is the same. That may have changed but it's still 15 questions to $1,000,000 and best of all no disco music. Here's the chain in full, courtesy of the show. Question #1 - $500 (formerly $100) Question #2 - $1,000 (formerly $200) Question #3 - $2,000 (formerly $300) Question #4 - $3,000 (formerly $500) Question #5 - $5,000 – “Safety Level” (formerly $1,000) Question #6 - $7,500 (formerly $2,000)

I'm back from a long weekend, and it's down to business quickly. Tonight is the season debut of Jeopardy!, now entering its 26th season which is really amazing. We've gone over the new set a few times, and it is a beautiful one. The only other change coming is the Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational. It's a giant celebrity tournament with the ultimate winner receiving $1,000,000. Celebrities in each quarterfinal game are guaranteed $25,000 and that is increased to a guaranteed $50,000 in the semi-finals. However, it's not a typical two-week-or-so long tournament. The tournament will be played out one game a month each season. On the third Thursday of every month, three celebrities will compete, and the winner will advance in the

It seems that every syndicated game show this season is getting some big change. A good deal of these have to deal with game play changes. But with Jeopardy!, there's no need to change the game. The only thing being changed this season is the set. If you watched the Tournament of Champions in season 25, you saw a preview of the brand new set. It comes to full-time use starting Monday, September 14th, in its season debut. The set is much more open than before and specifically designed for HD, while the previous one basically had to adapt however they could for HD. The Jeopardy! board is outfitted with flat screen monitors, as well as a new one to the side of host Alex Trebek to signal the Final Jeopardy category. The contestants also
