Um, wow.
The site is apparently not happy that we're changing it over, lol. Now to hope it stays fixed until the changeover. EDIT: So it didn't. I fixed it again.

ABC has picked up a new show from Mark Burnett and Sony Pictures called Shark Tank, which is a remake of the UK show Dragon's Den. It's the first collaboration between ABC and Burnett. The show sees people pitching their business ideas to five extremely rich tycoons. The people pitching must convince the sharks to fund their idea for the amount of money they request or they go home with nothing. "People are looking to be entrepreneurs to get ahead, yet there's no way anybody can go into a bank right now and get a loan," Burnett said. "For these entrepreneurs, these sharks are their last stop." Seven episodes were picked up, and it looks like it'll air next season. Dragon's Den originated in Japan and has been airing in England for a

Interesting story coming out of TV Week today. The long-running soap opera Guiding Light may be on its last leg and CBS could be getting rid of it soon. The network's deal with the show ends in September and it's really up in the air if it'll be going away or coming back. The part that interests us most is that, according to sources close with CBS, "Possibilities under discussion include both game shows and talk shows." So there's a chance we may be seeing another daytime game show here. Of course this is all unless the hour goes back to local affiliates which wouldn't be a big deal either. There are a lot of syndicated shows coming out, especially game shows, which need a home. Since Game Show Marathon came out, it has been said F

Good news for all you iPhone or iPod Touch users like myself. Gameloft and Sony have come out with two fantastic new game shows for the system based off of Wheel of Fortune and NBC's 1 VS 100. I'll start with the better one first. Shockingly 1 VS 100 is by far the better game and, to be quite honest, the best over-all game show game released for the iPhone. The game follows the rules of the actual good version perfectly. It uses the three-questions-at-$1,000; two-questions-at-$2,000; one-question-at-$3,000-to-$10,000 format which was by far the best before NBC and Endemol decided they wanted a millionaire more than anything. The three helps (Ask the Mob, Poll the Mob, Trust the Mob) are there for your disposal and, again, work exact

Sorry for the delay. We've got some new stuff brewing for the site, including a long-delayed updated look and a podcast, that's been occupying the usual writing time recently. But we've got something very interesting for you. We've got some clips of GSN's revival of The Newlywed Game for you to enjoy. Some of it is funny, but they didn't choose the funniest stuff to put up there yet. I'll have a bit more to say about the finished shows, which I saw last week, coming up later; the finished shows confused me a bit. But for now here's a look. The Newlywed Game premieres April 6th at 6:00PM ET on GSN. [stream flv=x:/www.flashgameshows.com/wordpress/videos/newlywedshowclips.flv width=630 height=343 bandwidth=med /]

Thanks to Mr. Brown for forwarding us this link. I think many of you may be interested in this. Here are a few pictures of Bob Barker on the set of The Price is Right which will air on April 16th. We originally published, from a release sent out, that Bob appeared in the Showcase Showdowns. He actually appears in the Showcases. This seems to be a pretty common mistake. More pictures can be found by clicking this link. All pictures courtesy of Faded Youth Blog.

It was recently announced that CBS commissioned a pilot for a new stunt/quiz show from Endemol called The Whole 19 Yards. Not a lot was known until now. First off, as previously stated, the host is Chris Hardwick from MTV's Singled Out. Basically take the stunt aspect of shows like Wipeout and put it in a studio. It's Jeopardy!: Wipeout Edition. The game begins with five competitors. A series of clues is given to the competitors which identifies a person, place, or a thing. Once the player believes they know the answer, they have to run through the obstacle course as fast as they can. First person there can hit the buzzer and answer the question. If that person is not correct the second place person can answer. The eventual winn

I don't think it's that much of a surprise to anyone who watched the episode of Countdown posted here this weekend that the champion of that episode, Kirk Bevins, becomes an octochamp (8-time undefeated champion, pretty much like what a 5-time Jeopardy champion used to be). I found a cool link for all of you. As I move further into the production area of television, the more I get interested in the total package of the show, including the set. It's neat to see them in person because stuff looks way different on television than it does up close and personal. In looking for pictures of something completely different I found a set designer on Flickr who is posting his models and set pictures up there for all to see. Right now in the game show department is Dirty Rotten Cheater, The Big Spin, some pilot called So You Think You're Funny, and most exciting to me some Russian Roulette set pictures, including the pilot. A few are shown below. Here's the link to see all of his game show sets..
