Kate Flannery Today on GSN Live

I don't quite get Kate Flannery's appearance on GSN Live today at 3:00PM ET, but whatever.  She's from The Office and was on one episode of the thankfully gone Celebrity Family Feud.  But there you go.  Kate Flannery today at 3:00PM ET on GSN Live.

GSN Plans More Classic Marathons on New Years

New PDFs are updated on the sidebar, but we have some upcoming marathons which you may look forward to.  I know I'll be looking forward to December 31st.  If you're going to be in on New Year's Eve, check out a The $100,000 Pyramid marathon from 9:00AM ET to 6:00PM ET.  No specific episode information is given yet, but I'd guess it would be some $100,000 wins.  It would be really nice to see this show on the regular lineup some time; it's been a while, hasn't it? And after you wake up from that hangover on January 1st, kick in 2009 with a Let's Make A Deal marathon from 9:00AM ET to 3:00PM ET.  Again, no word on what episodes just yet.  Following that will be the three Play It Back specials showcasing great game shows from the 70s, 80s,

Rumor Control: “Catch 21″ Renewed Thumbnail

Rumor Control: “Catch 21″ Renewed

I knew it was popular, but this came quickly.  However, according to an interview with Catch 21's dealer Mikki Padilla in Santa Fe, the popular GSN card game show has been renewed for a second season.  She said she's prepping for the second season.  Of course we have to clear it with GSN first.  We're clearing the information as soon as we can, though, so stay tuned. I'll be pretty happy if the show's coming back.  I thought Catch 21 was great.  It had a few kinks to work out, but overall it's one of the more solid shows they've put out in ages.  Hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Mikki Padilla were great; it was nice that they actually like Mikki, the dealer, have a personality.  The game was fun, energetic, and an exciting end game with a nice

Weekend Replay: “$100,000 Pyramid” and “Russian Roulette”

We're now continuing our November Sweeps thing here and it's my weekend.  I have two favorite shows.  If you're a regular here, you may know one of my favorites is Russian Roulette.  Another may shock people because it's a classic; my all time favorite show is $100,000 Pyramid.  I really couldn't decide which I wanted to post, so I decided one of both.  Here you go.

OK, I'm finally caught up with emails with this one so no delayed news.  On Thursday, November 20th, GSN Live has a very special treat for all the viewers.  The queen of game shows, Betty White, will be making a very special appearance during the 3PM ET to 6PM ET block hosted by Fred Roggin and Kelly Packard, specifically 5PM ET.  She will be discussing her life, late husband Allen Ludden, and various game shows she's participated in (most recently Million Dollar Password). To celebrate her visit, GSN Live will be airing a mini marathon of Password Plus during that 3PM E to 6PM E block.  Episodes featured will be, according to the network: #025. From 1979. Live Chat for GSN’s “Think Like a Cat”, AKA “Freaking Million Dollar Cat Game Show,” Tonight! Thumbnail

Live Chat for GSN’s “Think Like a Cat”, AKA “Freaking Million Dollar Cat Game Show,” Tonight!

So tonight's the night the obsessive cat people have waited for and basically everyone else has dreaded.  It's the debut of GSN's Think Like a Cat, or what we at BuzzerBlog affectionately call Freaking Million Dollar Cat Game Show.  I won't say that a show is really bad unless it is.  It's a pretty bad show.  I can even get over the whole cat aspect.  It's still pretty bad.  But I want you all to be able to talk about how bad it is together!  Our chat was popular last night for what little notification we had, so it'll be opened again.  Just come on in, change your nickname if you want to what we'd know you better as, and talk to fans about GSN's new hopefully one time show starting at 9:30PM ET. And sorry for the lame swear filter. Just

Family Week on “Millionaire” Starts Monday Thumbnail

Family Week on “Millionaire” Starts Monday

We've seen the clock claim a few victims already.  I can't wait to see what it does starting on Monday with "Family Week" on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?.  three people of three different generations will all play the game at the same time.  It should be hysterical (I'm not sure if in a good way or a bad way) to see the families flounder and argue.  Actually we probably won't see that because there's no time to argue.  If you do, you're screwed.  I think the bad part of the news is that the expert is going to be Alan Thicke who played Jason Seaver on Growing Pains.  And it segues into why I'm really not a fan of Ask the Expert.  What it seems like is that they are going for people who give them more publicity than anything.  I unde

“Price is Right” and “Deal or No Deal” Chat Tonight! Thumbnail

“Price is Right” and “Deal or No Deal” Chat Tonight!

When we first started BuzzerBlog, for all the site elders, we always had game show chats, usually for Deal or No Deal.  I want to start trying to bring it back officially tomorrow.  As a beta for tonight, though, I want to try out the chatroom for both Deal or No Deal and Price is Right airing tonight at 8PM and 9PM, respectively.  Go ahead and try it out.  Be sure to say if you will like it.  More than anything, though, come back tomorrow night for it.  We'll have a chat for Freaking Million Dollar Cat Game Show.  I have a feeling a lot of you would like to talk about that show live with others. Chat room returns tomorrow!

“Million Dollar Password” Returns December 21st Thumbnail

“Million Dollar Password” Returns December 21st

CBS finally announced the return of Million Dollar Pyramid, er Million Dollar Password after taping a long time ago.  It'll come back on Sunday, December 21st, at 8PM ET.  At least they aren't doing the same mistake they did with Power of 10 by putting it in a suicide slot against shows like American Idol.  I'm not a big fan of this new version of Password, but it deserves better.  On the first episode, the celebrities will be Aisha Tyler from CSI and Talk Soup, and William Shatner from everything. We were given the official rules a bit ago.  It included their rules for judging clues; we'll have to post that up here this weekend possibly.  But the only change this season is that the $250,000 level is now a milestone.  If you win a quarte

A Preview of Upcoming Trivial Pursuit Weeks

The great crew at Trivial Pursuit: America Plays supplied us with a ton of clips today. We've talked about the new Trivial Pursuit theme weeks they are doing during November, but here's a small refresher. I hope you're watching this week because it's Brady Week. Host Christopher Knight will host a week full Brady American team captains. And watch out on Friday because three Brady family members will be playing for charity. Should be fun. Here's yet another funny out take from this week. November 24th will be very cool. If you haven't played the Trivial Pursuit: America Plays game on Pogo, you should. It's very fun. A contest was held which I was happy to hear many of you took part in, and the winner of the contest got to be

New “Jeopardy!” Set to be Unveiled in January Tapings Thumbnail

New “Jeopardy!” Set to be Unveiled in January Tapings

From Broadcasting and Cable, Sony Pictures Television President Steve Mosko announced Sony's major presense at the next Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show in January.  Jeopardy! will be on display with 11 episodes being shot live-to-tape from the showroom floor on a 16,000 square foot stage next to Sony's booth.  600 people will be able to fit in the audience in the set. The main attraction is going to be the new set, though.  It has been announced that Jeopardy!'s new set will debut during the January taped episodes and aired at a time not quite known yet beyond Spring 2009.  Sony will also showcase a new way to play Jeopardy! during the show's airing from your home with Airplay called "Jeopardy Live".  Deal or No Deal uses a similar g

Polls, Twitter, and Facebook on BuzzerBlog

Before we get into any of the major announcements, we're glad we finally found a way to put polls on the site.  I can barely run my computer; I can just type fast and be really opinionated.  So we finally added a poll on the sidebar.  Check it out; questions will be updated once every one or two weeks.  We're glad so many of you have already found it and started using it, as I'm looking at some of the results.  Definitely sound off more and let your voice be heard. I'm a big fan of the whole social networking thing.  And I'm really proud to be part of the whole blogging thing before the entire explosion of it occured.  We keep trying to add new features to the site to make it modern and keep it up to date.  We do a lot of video content s

Ask Mark Walberg “Five Good Questions” From PBS Thumbnail

Ask Mark Walberg “Five Good Questions” From PBS

One of the perks I get from doing this is the ability to talk to great people like host Mark L. Walberg.  His FOX show The Moment of Truth still isn't scheduled and who knows if it'll even show up for a long time, but his other PBS show, the long running Antiques Roadshow, is going strong on PBS.  I got an email from the PBS crew today telling me about Mark's involvement in a PBS Engage series: Five Good Questions. If you have any questions you've wanted to ask Mark Walberg, here's your chance.  Go to PBS Engage's website by clicking here.  Leave any questions for him you have in their comments page.  If they accidentally wind up on ours, though, we'll be sure to forward them.  When they are done asking for questions, they'll chose five
