Weekend Replay: Richie Bell Loses Fortune on “Deal or No Deal”
I usually like to refrain from calling Deal or No Deal contestants psychotic or crazy or just plain idiotic. The show's all about gambling to begin with. A semi-crazy gamble could make you pretty smart and leave you with a million. However, when you lose $600,000; it's being idiotic. Contestant Richie Bell, on Wednesday's primetime episode, was down to three cases: $1, $1,000,000; and $1,000,000 (it's the Million Dollar Mission again). His offer was over $600,000; which he rejected. One of the million dollar cases is left, and his final offer between a million and a buck was over $400,000. He rejected that as well and took home $1 plus a bit of bonus money from earlier. But in terms of the game, $1. Absolutely the dumbest move I ha

After fighting with my computer to get it working, I finally have it ready to go! For all those who missed it, here's the big win of the week. It's John Hanlin winning the $100,000 grand prize from Bingo America. Congratulations to John; played great and gutsy all game long. We have a great find thanks to the users at the Game Show Forum. Apparently, MGM has created a YouTube channel for American Gladiators, which includes some "cheating" clips, Olympic atheletes clips, and even all 26 episodes from the first season. Check it out.

On the same day as the massive massive failure on NBC's Deal or No Deal (video of that will be coming soon), GSN had a reason to celebrate. Bingo America crowned its second $100,000 winner; the first with the new and vastly improved end game. John Hanlin beat some pretty amazing odds. In the end game, you have to pick a number from each row on a Bingo board (B: 1-15, I: 16-30, N: 31-45, G: 46-60, O: 61-75). Rows I through O have wrecking balls (1 in I, 3 in N, 6 in G, 10 in O) which, if picked, wipes out your entire bank. He risked $6,500 on the 1:3 shot to pass the O level and was the first person to clear the board, securing $7,000. A Superball was then drawn from the Bingo Sphere, and if it matched any of the five numbers that Hanl

The new daytime Deal or No Deal has been pretty popular, hasn't it been? It started out a bit scary, ratings wise, but it's picking up steam and looking really well. Plus it's basically universally enjoyed more than the intensely drawn out and often boring NBC primetime version, so that's a helper. Daytime Deal has been pretty good in the gimmick department so far. Nothing that drags the game down, but adding enough stuff so it keeps interesting and fun. And apparently someone likes them, cause more are coming. Pictures below show a Halloween week. I'm guessing it's sponsored by M&M's, since those logos are plastered everywhere it seems. But hey, if it keeps the show going and it doesn't get in the way like really none of the

When you're all doped up on tryptophan on Thanksgiving, or you're just sick of your family, why not tune into GSN for two marathons of great shows. First off, on November 27th, save yourself the trouble of fighting with your family by tuning into a marathon of Family Feud hosted by the great John O'Hurley. This will run from 9AM ET to 6PM ET and who knows what season it is right now. Friday, November 28th, brings an interesting marathon. On Black Friday watch people try to earn some Christmas shopping money on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? also from 9AM ET to 6PM ET. It's hosted by Regis Philbin which stuns me a bit. I would have figured, since they just got new syndicated episodes of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? hosted by Meredi

Be sure to check out Who Wants to be a Millionaire? this week, wherever you get the show. It's "Teacher Week", which obviously means it'll be teachers in the hot seat all week long. Be sure to check it out to see if someone can finally win the million dollars. How long has it been? Millionaire is giving us a reminder this week by having the first female $1,000,000 winner Nancy Christy becoming the "Expert". Usually that lifeline is a bit sketchy, but I'd trust her over Entertainment Weekly editors any day of the week. Nancy won the million in 2003 and was the last one to win the top prize of Millionaire. It's been a long time. Plus, Nancy is a teacher too, so maybe she can pass some of her good luck on to someone who will be brave

It's always nice to hear Mark Walberg hosting more shows, even if it's a live Vegas show. He deserves it for some of the stuff he does. If you're in the general area of Las Vegas, be sure to check out The Price is Right Live this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Looks like the shows will be at 2:30PM. Definitely check him out and support basically the television's only true game show host left on the air, not an out of work comic.

Time to jump into conspiracy theory mode which must make all these production companies laugh their asses off. On Thursday, October 16th's episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, contestant Adam Pinson made way up the money chain and collected $50,000 before time ran out. He'll be back on Friday, October 17th, with a $100,000 question in the category of TV Dinners with just Double Dip left. Will he be the first in six years to break the bank and finally win the $1,000,000 top prize? I really don't think so because it's not November. I've been writing for this site for over three years. I've been trained to understand that the big events happen in November for sweeps. However, that was really wrong on Tuesday's million dollar Whe

Update: GSN Tribute and Videos Below Television lost a legend today. Jack Narz, host of classic shows like Dotto, Seven Keys, Video Village, Beat the Clock, and Now You See It, has passed away at age 85. Stu Shostak of Shokus Radio said that Mr. Narz had suffered from two massive strokes and kidney failure in the last three weeks. Even though Narz's last regular game show work was announcing on The All New Beat the Clock in 1979 and 1980, Narz was very appreciative of the current generation of television and game show fans, as younger fans called in during his appearance on Shostak's online radio show last year and were eager to meet Mr. Narz during his appearances at Game Show Congresses over the last four years. GSN will be doing
