Tonight GSN debuts their new show Bingo America in just a bit minutes, and this might be interesting. Their site seems to not be working right now, so either there’s major issues on their end or a lot more people are downloading cards than they expected. But hey, you get to play along with the questions at the very least so that’s a plus. It’s a pretty decent show for the first 27 minutes before it drags to a halt in the end game, so just be warned. I’d love to hear your thoughts, as would GSN. Be sure to leave a comment, and also give your star rating (0 to 5) in the POST INFO box when you click on the story’s headline. Hope you like it.

Bingo America
The drop zone is back. Russian Roulette returns to GSN today at 6:00PM ET and starting tomorrow in primetime at 10:00PM ET.
ABC has announced that former weekend Extra (an entertainment news tabloid show) Jon Kelley has been named the host of the revived fifth season of The Mole. Kelley has more than 15 years of experience in news, sports, and entertainment broadcasting. He was also the anchor of FSN’s The National Sports Report. Click here to read his Extra profile. Variety is reporting The Mole will kick off its new season on May 26th at 10:00PM ET, but nothing is set in stone yet.
New Rating System!
Exciting new updates for BuzzerBlog today, at least for us and potentially you. The one thing I prize this site on is its interactivity. Honestly, without you guys commenting, I wouldn’t be doing this. There are sites that do the whole new thing equally as well and/or better. One thing I’ve long struggled with is how to do show reviews easier, and we finally have a way. Before shows debut we’ll set up specific posts and pages for the show. In the POST INFO box will be a star system. You can highlight as many stars as you want and click to cast your vote. It’ll average all the votes from everyone and come up with a final score. Just as a warning you only get to vote once per IP.
This is really a way so you can communicate easier with fans of your favorite shows, look at what’s popular and not, look for some recommendations, and also networks and production companies can easily see what people like and what they don’t. For instance, tomorrow night we will start the entire voting process with Bingo America,Deal or No Deal, Russian Roulette, and we’ll add more as time goes on. However, be sure to vote if you can, because trust me, you’re making more of a difference on the TV landscape on sites like this than you know. Shows like The Mole and, more specifically, Russian Roulette, would definitely not be back on today if it wasn’t for. I give you all.

Five out of five stars. And yes, that was a test too.
Hey, remember that Friend or Foe? returns to GSN tomorrow afternoon. It wasn’t the best of shows but it’s sure a hell of a lot better than a lot of what GSN’s pumped out since the rebranding. Fun host, great music package, nice set, and it actually had some questions (tricky ones at that). I’m in the minority that enjoyed the Trust Box, but regardless, it’ll be interesting to see what some newer viewers of the show think of it. Here’s a video of the opening of the show featuring our friend and Lingo god Robert McKee and a bit of the awesome soundtrack.
Forgot yesterday’s video; I’ve been busy as always. Here’s today.
Thanks to an email from reader Bob Hagh, we have the rules for season two of ABC’s Duel which is somehow magically coming back next Friday, April 4th, at 9:00PM ET. It seems like they’ve taken a portion of both end games of the British version. The game’s basically staying the same.
After each game, you get to answer the “Max Moment Question” just to throw a bit more shameless product promotion in there. If you’re right you double the money you’ve earned. You have the chance to leave with your money after each duel, or you can risk it all and play another opponent that you select.
If you win five duels, you win $500,000. What remains to be seen is if you can double that $500,000 to $1,000,000. That might be a bit of a contradiction right now since the casting notices constantly tout a $1,000,000 top prize but other releases state $500,000 though host Mike Greenberg did say you get a chance to double your money. No idea how the money is decided either. Last season it was $5,000 for each chip you had remaining.
If the top prize is just $500,000 tops, ABC might want to stop showing the $1,500,000+ jackpot totals in their advertisements for the show. Seeing mega money be brought down to $500,000 is bad enough. Having commercials saying the last winner won more than $1.7 million, and the champion this season wins $500,000, it almost depressing and pathetic. But hey, it’s a relatively fun question format. Let’s see if they’ve done anything to change some of the issues season one had.
The Mole really can’t come soon enough.
So I’m typing this at 4PM and hopefully it’ll be up at 11:00PM thanks to automatic posting, but if not, whoops. Here’s today’s Bingo America video.
Do you remember when we talked about a “Price” PC game in development? Well, after a long wait, it has been released to the public.
I must say, it’s pretty good. Graphics are good-looking,
There’s only a couple of minor issues. First, the prizes are video clips from actual aired shows, so there’s a very small chance that somebody playing may have that episode on tape, and can then guess the ARP exactly. Second, it would be nice to have keyboard support for typing in bids. Clicking on “hidden arrows” up and down gets the job done, but it’s not the way the average user would expect to enter numbers on a PC game.
The complete list of pricing games:
- 3 Strikes
- Bonkers
- Check-Out
- Cliffhangers
- Flip Flop
- Freeze Frame
- Hole in One (or Two)
- It’s in the Bag
- Master Key
- Money Game
- Plinko
- Punch-A-Bunch
- Push Over
- Race Game
- Range Game
- Shell Game
Overall, I give the game 4/5. Try it out first, then buy it if you like it. I certainly did. :-DLudia’s “The Price is Right” software is available as a 30-minute free trial or as a $19.99 purchase (plus applicable sales tax). Download it here.
As a tip: You can skip through Rich’s explanation of Contestant’s Row, the pricing games, etc., by clicking anywhere in the main portion of the screen. However, you cannot skip through prize descriptions (unless you bid on the first showcase, which will then produce a “Skip” button to click on during the second).
OK, we promise Bingo America is a hell of a lot better than How Much is Enough? which I still feel bad about for my horrendous review based on just one episode. We have a lot more faith that most of you should enjoy Bingo America in some shape or form that we’ll be posting some videos and pictures each day leading up to the debut on Monday, March 31st, at 7:00PM ET on GSN. Here’s today’s video.
