Jakks Pacific Creates “1 vs. 100″ Plug-N-Play Game

Just like "Deal or No Deal", after the first few episodes of "1 vs. 100", Jakks has announced they will be creating a plug-n-play game based off of the hit quiz show hosted by Bob Saget. President of Endemol USA David goldberg stated "The 1 vs. 100 ratings have been solid since the show's premiere. Almost 13 million viewers tuned into the premiere, making it easily the most-watched and highest rated show in the 18-49 demographic of the night. We believe the show has momentum and will continue to gain a bigger following. Jakks' TV Games line has been hugely successful and will be an excellent platform for this exciting new show." The game is expected to be released in the spring for $19.99.

“Show Me the Money” Sinks in Ratings Again Thumbnail

“Show Me the Money” Sinks in Ratings Again

On what ABC called the "series premiere" and what a person with active brainwaves calls the second episode, "Show Me the Money" sunk down again, this time to a 5.2/9 on the Wednesday episode. This is down from the overall official 8.3/13 it achieved on its Tuesday November 14th premiere date. However, in an attempt to keep people at bay, I'll cut it slack once more. This was a holiday weekend and people were traveling, so who knows what will happen. Next week, a regular week, will be a true decider of the show's fate. If it slips again, I don't think we'll be shown the money again. By the way, as I promised, I gave the show one more shot (before I left for a movie) on Wednesday, and I just couldn't take it. My opinion stays the sam

Home Game News

We have quite a bit of home game news, so let's throw it all in one post.  Pat Sajak's newest game, Blackjack Bowling, is going to be released on mobile phone systems relatively soon.  Even more, the game has been on the air in Russia, so if you live there, please tell us how it is. Also, there is an updated version of the original "Wheel of Fortune" plug-n-play game.  According to a source, at a Target, the new game is packaged in a plastic casing without the cardboard boxing that the original had.  The game is not without the upper left cartridge slot and is marked with a "1" on the plastic emblem where the "gamekey" use to be.  "More than likely, this assumes that future version of the product will be released as Edition 2, 3, 4, etc.

Explanation With What’s Going On + Input Post

As you noticed, we changed the site a bit. We're joining Embassy Row to cast people for the second season of "World Series of Pop Culture", airing on VH1. If you click the top logo, it will take you to the site to register and will give you the audition cities. As a little heads up, the returning champs: El Chupacabra will be returning to take home the trophy and another $250,000. The terrific Pat Kiernan will be returning as host. Before we get comments: no, the site won't be staying like this forever or for very long. We just want to get the point across to people to sign up. Plus, I have to be honest, I like this look much better. We might have to think of something less empty in the near future. However, back on topic, we would

Zanny Henseler, “Deal or No Deal”?

I think she's regretting that now.  The taxes on her pink and lime green Escalade?  $25,000.  "I'm going to sell my truck, but that's not going to cover it, so I'm freaking out."  The Escalade includes 7 LCD screens, an Xbox 360, and a 3000-watt stereo with six subwoofers.

Australia Gets “1vs100″ and “Show Me the Money”

Nine Network in Australia announced today that they will air the shows "1vs100" and "Show Me the Money" in 2007. Right now, it is sounding like each of the shows will follow the US format, which I can't determine if it's a good thing or a really bad thing, but we'll have to see. If you live in Australia and read, you can be a contestant on either one of these by calling 1300 73 94 84. Good luck.

K-Fed Enters Mob on “1 vs. 100″

Lord help us all. The New York Posts' Starr Report, uh, reported that Mr. Britney Spears, Kevin Federline, will be joining the mob as seat number 13. He was added at the very last minute on the November 13th taped episode which is scheduled to air on December 1st, although this could change. Yeah, I really don't know what to say, so I'll just end the post.

New Syndicated Game Shows Shopped

I think it is fairly safe to announce a few things finally, since B&C announced them. NOTE: THESE ARE NOT SOLD OR FIRM GO'S. THESE ARE BEING SHOPPED AROUND AND WORKED ON CURRENTLY. *THIS was hard to keep a secret. Yes, the rumors are true. A pilot for "Temptation", the Australian update of "Sale of the Century", has been shot in Australia a few weeks ago. The format is relatively faithful to the Australian format. No word on host. *This was a long time coming also: a pilot for "Catch Phrase" has been shot, and sources tell us it went very very well. The first pilot was hosted by Todd Newton, but we heard it was since redone and turned out better. *Fremantle shot a pilot for the show "Connections". We don't know a damn thing

“Deal or No Deal”‘s April Scott Stars in “Dukes of Hazzard”

Savvy.com today announced that "Deal or No Deal"'s April Scott, who previously held case 14, is taking over the role of Daisy Duke in the new straight-to-DVD movie "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning".  She will portray Daisy's transformation from tomboy to sex bomb when the movie is released in March 2007.  When asked how tough it was to get the job, Ms. Scott, one of People's "Most Beautiful People" stated "The audition process was pretty difficult.  They saw tons of girls.  I was called back four times before I got the part.  Jessica (Simpson) was definitely a great Daisy, but luckily they chose a brunette this time."  However, when asked about the role she would most like, she said Wonder Woman. "Warner Bros. tells me they are working

Lifetime is finally stepping back into the world of game shows thanks to Endemol. If you bitched because GSN's new "I've Got A Secret" had a gay panel, get ready to bitch about this: Lifetime's new show is "Gay, Straight, or Taken?". In this show, a woman interacts with a man in a group and one-on-one. At the end of the show, the lady must pick the single straight guy. If she does, those two win a trip to an exotic location. If she doesn't, the person she chose wins the trip for himself and his significant other. 18 episodes have been ordered from Endemol and they will begin to air on January 8th at 8PM with back-to-back episodes.
