NBC’s newest game show “1 vs. 100″ is set to debut October 13th. In it, host Bob Saget will be quizmaster to one contestant hoping to answer questions correctly and eliminate the 100 mob members playing against him/her. Each mob member gone brings the player’s jackpot up, but one wrong answer means the one leaves with $0 and the remaining mob members split the money. If the one can eliminate the mob, that person will win $1,000,000. “1 vs. 100″ debuts on October 13th at 9PM ET, following “Deal or No Deal”.

This show looks great. It kind of reminds me of that short-lived Fox Family game show from a few years back called “Paranoia.”
Yeah. I loved Paranoia, and you’re right - it also had the “1 player against everyone” kind of structure, except that the jackpot structure was the inverse of 1 vs 100 (jackpot started at $1+ million and correct answers would chip away at that, until the studio player elimited all the satellite players). I saw the commercial for 1 vs 100 during Friday’s Deal or No Deal and it looks really, really awesome. It is very interested to see how much it’s like DoND. The contestant receives “offers” based on their elimination of the mob, and basically choose “deal or no deal”.
I think the bailout option, if done well, will be a fascinating addition to the game. Not sure it’ll be ideal but that and the fact a wrong answer means the mob, and not Endemol, get the money… will keep things interesting and remove the problem of nobody winning.
I finally saw the commerical for 1 vs 100 and I am psyched up for it. Bob Saget I feel will do a great job on this. from what i seen every time you eliminate someone from the mob money is offered and Bob asks do you want the money or the mob? I think though that they shouldn’t have done this on 5 fridays they should have done it for a week at 8 p.m. CST and then if it did well those 5 episodes then try out another 5 episode run at 8 p.m. CST. i hope those that this show will do well on fridays because it looks very exciting and Im considering trying out for this show.
