NBC provided Buzzer with lots of “1 vs. 100″ news. First off, the first contestant on the season premiere, Jay Stakelon of Allentown, PA, will be going against the mob for the original prize of “1 vs. 100″: $3,000,000. In the mob that day will be “rapper” Kevin Federline (Any money he gets off of 1vs100 will be more than he gets off Spears), cast members from the NBC show “Las Vegas”, and poker hottie Annie Duke. Next game, Paula Russell from Chicago will play for the regular $1,000,000. This will make game show fans happy: In the mob that day will be GSN’s “Telethon” (pilot) host Wink Martindale and “Newlywed Game” host Bob Eubanks. The $10,000 text competition remains, and it’s not known if any game play changes will occur, but we wouldn’t count on it.
REMINDER: “1 vs. 100″ BEGINS A NEW SERIES OF 10 EPISODE THIS FRIDAY AT 8PM ET

Hmmm… I’ll have to record it Friday… I kinda figure that NBC would get more viewers for this show if it was on any night besides Friday or Saturday. Maybe Bob will talk about K-Fed (washes mouth out with soap after saying that name) 6,000,000,000,000 times per game like he did with Ken Jennings.

It’s always interesting to see game show hosts play game shows. I wonder if there are minor mods to the game as well.

Why a $3 million stunt for one player? Not very fair to the others. I had seen early reportage of the original concept having a $3 million payout so am curious. The odds of ever winning are so low why not keep it that way forever?

That’s what I’m thinking, too… are they going to triple the payouts up to $3,000,000 as well?
If not, it’s pretty much a viewer grab.

No matter who is in the mob, I am looking forward to Friday! 1 vs. 100 is a great game! Bring On The Mob!
IMO, most hosts who play the games themselves play them well. I mean, if you can’t…then you shouldn’t be working in game shows, period.
